Agency Name: St. Paul Public Schools Contact: Mary Tinucci, LGSW, MSW, Coordinator mary.tinucci@spps.org www.poetrylab.spps.org 651-983-8159 (cell) Internship Title: The Poetry Lab - Co- Facilitators & Special Projects Days: M-F (various options) Hours: 9am - 3pm (various options) Salary: None at this time (future grant possibilities exist) Qualifications, skills/Software, Knowledge etc..... MUST LIKE URBAN YOUTH! Creative, Dependable, some sound/video/web design -- I currently use Sound Studio to record & make Poetry CDs; I would like to use Imovie; our Web site is done on Urban Planet. Internship Description: The Poetry Lab is a project in St. Paul Public Schools. I work with middle school and high school age youth who have behavioral challenges. We make spoken word poetry cds, and poetry anthologies. I am looking for interns to do many and various creative projects with my students (and independently for the program). Possibilities Include: ~ Co-lead Poetry Lab Writing Groups with project coordinator ~ Record/make audio poetry cds (currently, i use an I-Book, and Sound studio) ~ Do the graphic design of the poetry cds (currently i use photoshop) ~ Create a video documentary of the Poetry Lab (i-movie) ~ Develop/maintain the poetry lab website (we use an easy template called Urban Planet) ~ Organize special events/public readings where the youth can showcase their work ~ Help students find publishing options for their work ~ Create a Poetry Lab newsletter for distribution in the school district ~ Create a Poetry Lab magazine/zine Some of these project could be done WITH students -Some separate from students.
